We electroplate the surface of the pendant with platinum, which significantly extends the time before the silver begins to oxidize and makes it more resistant to water exposure. However, we still recommend removing the pendant before bathing, as chemical products like body wash or shampoo can accelerate oxidation. If the silver does become tarnished or blackened, you can easily restore its shine by cleaning it with toothpaste or using a silver polishing cloth or stick.
